The new InTheHoop Valentine Panda BookBuddy Marker (Sarah came up with the name!) is incredibly quick and easy to make!

It is designed for the 4x4 hoop, or more than one can be made at a time in the larger sized hoops!

It is made from fun colorful cottons, and is great to add when giving a book as a gift.

Valentine Panda Book Buddy Marker Instructions

1. Hoop one or two layers of WSS stabilizer.

Stitch the first color (fabric placement outline and ribbon placement outline).  Do NOT place fabric on outline yet.

2. Place a 12" piece of 5/8 - 7/8" ribbon centered over ribbon placement outline with approximately 1/2" of ribbon extending over top of ribbon outline in design area.

3.  Stitch second color to secure ribbon.

IMPORTANT:  Tape ribbon down so it does not become entangled in presser foot in future steps.

4.  Place a piece of fabric on top of fabric placement outline covering completely.  Stitch third color to secure.

Stitch the fourth color (panda ears and panda fabric placement outline).  

Place a piece of fabric on top of panda fabric placement outline covering completely.  Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

5.  Stitch the sixth color (face satin stitching and nose).

Stitch the seventh color (eye spots).

Stitch the eighth color (inner eyes and smile).

6.  Place a second piece of fabric UNDER hoop stabilizer, RIGHT SIDE facing DOWN.  Stitch ninth color to secure. 

7.  Remove hoop from machine, but do NOT remove fabric/stabilizer from hoop!

Carefully trim fabric top AND bottom closely around perimeter of ghost design being careful not to cut stabilizer or ribbon.  Replace hoop in machine.

Stitch tenth color to reinforce.

Trim any fuzzies.

8.  Stitch 11th color (book buddy satin stitching).

 Remove from hoop and carefully trim wss away from design.  Remove tape from ribbon.

You're finished!
