Valentine Owl Applique Instructions:

1. Hoop item to be appliqued as desired.

Stitch first color (owl fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch second color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch third color (owl satin stitching).

2.   Stitch fourth color (heart eyes fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch sixth color (eyes satin stitching).

3. Stitch seventh color (inner eyes, eyelashes).

Stitch eighth color (beak).

Stitch ninth color (hearts).
