Super Softie is made entirely in one 4x4 hooping and sized perfectly for little hands!

The only hand sewing is one small seam which is sewn shut upon completion.

4x4 SUPER SOFTIES (includes pes, jef & hus formats):

SUPER SOFTIES INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer.

Place a 5x5" piece of polar fleece on top of stabilizer.

Stitch first color to secure (softie outline).

2.  Stitch second color (hair).

3. Stitch third color (mask).

4. Stitch fourth color (eyes).

5.  Stitch fifth color (clothing fabric placement outline).

6. Place a piece of fabric on top of clothing outline, covering completely.

Stitch sixth color to secure.

7.  Trim clothing fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch seventh color (clothing satin stitching).

8.  Place a second 5x5" piece of fleece on top of hooped stabilizer/fleece.

Stitch final color to secure.

9.  Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design, leaving approximately a 1/4-1/2" seam allowance. 

Clip curves and corners well.

Turn inside out, stuff lightly, and sew small seam opening closed.

You're finished!

Super Softie Cape:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Place a 5x5" piece of cotton fabric on top of stabilizer and stitch first color (cape outline).

2.  Cut two pieces of 10" ribbon.  Place one piece of ribbon at top left side of design with approximately 1/2" extending past left side stitching outline.  Tape in place.

Repeat with second piece of ribbon on right side.  Tape in place.

Stitch second color to secure both pieces of ribbon.

Fold both pieces of ribbon so they are entirely within the cape outline except for the 1/2" extending on either side.

Tape in place inside outline (I use a piece of packing tape to tape them down well.)

Place a second 5x5" piece of cotton on top of fabric/ribbons RIGHT SIDE FACING DOWN.

Stitch final color.

3.  Remove from hoop. Trim around perimeter of design, leaving approximately a 1/4-1/2" seam allowance. 

Clip curves and corners well.

Turn inside out, remove tape, and sew small seam opening closed.

Tie cape around Super Softie's neck.

You're finished!
