 The Storybook Dorothy Finger Puppet was designed for the 4x4 hoop.  It requires only 16 min. stitching time and 11 color stops.

Storybook Dorothy Finger Puppet (includes pes, jef & hus formats):

Storybook Dorothy Finger Puppet Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Center a 5x5" piece of felt on top of stabilizer.

Stitch first color to secure.

2. Stitch second color (face, arms, legs).

Stitch third color (shirt).

Stitch fourth color (hair).

Stitch fifth color (eyes, mouth).

Stitch sixth color (cheeks).

3.  Stitch seventh color (dress fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of dress outline, covering completely.

Stitch eighth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible, being careful not to cut stitching or felt underneath.

Stitch ninth color (satin stitching).

4. Stitch tenth color (shoes).

5.  Float a second piece of felt UNDER hooped design, covering completely.

Stitch final color to secure.

6. Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design.
