The Shamrock and Tree Pocket Appliques were designed for the 4x4 hoop.  

These quick and easy to stitch pockets are great for adding on to a garment or tote.

 Shamrock Pocket Stocking Instructions:

1. Hoop item to be appliqued as desired.

Stitch third color (shamrock fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.
Stitch second color to secure and to stitch pocket placement line.

2.  Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Fold and press a 5x8" piece of fabric so it is 5x4".

Place folded fabric on top of design so folded edge is even with pocket placement line, and entire portion below pocket placement line is completely covered.

IMPORTANT:  Tape entire folded edge securely down so presser foot does not become entangled in pocket in future steps.

Stitch third color to secure.

Trim pocket fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch fourth color (satin stitching).

 Tree Pocket Stocking Instructions:

1. Hoop item to be appliqued as desired.

Stitch first color (tree fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.
Stitch second color to secure and to stitch pocket placement line.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.
