Santa Smiley Claus Instructions:

1. Hoop item to be appliqued as desired.

Stitch first color (hat fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch second color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch third color (hat satin stitching).

2.  Stitch fourth color (smiley face fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch sixth color (smiley face satin stitching).

Stitch seventh color (facial features).

3. Stitch eighth color (hat trim fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch ninth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch tenth color (hat trim satin stitching and pompom fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch 11th color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch 12th color (pompom satin stitching).
