The Santa Bear and Santa Kitty Softie Set was designed for the 5x7 hoop.  Each Softie is made entirely in one hooping with just one small seam to be sewn closed by hand or machine upon completion.  They are the perfect size for tucking into a Christmas stocking!

Santa Bear and Santa Kitty Softie Set: 

Santa Bear Softie Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Center a 6x9" piece of fleece (or flannel) on top of stabilier.

Stitch first color to secure (Bear outline).

2. Stitch second color (bear facial features).

3. Stitch third color (hat fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hat outline covering completely.

Stitch fourth color to secure.

Trim hat fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fleece/flannel underneath or stitching.

Stitch fifth color (hat satin stitching).

4.  Stitch sixth color (hat trim fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hat trim outline covering completely.

Stitch seventh color to secure.

Trim hat fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fleece/flannel underneath or stitching.

Stitch eighth color (hat trim satin stitching and pompom fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of pompom outline covering completely.

Stitch ninth color to secure.

Trim hat fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fleece/flannel underneath or stitching.

Stitch tenth color (pompom satin stitching).

5. Place a second 6x9" piece of flannel/fleece on top of outline covering completely FACE DOWN.

Stitch final color to secure.

6. Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4- 1/2" seam allowance.  Clip corners and curves well.

Turn right side out. Stuff as desired.  Sew small seam opening closed by hand or machine.

You're finished!

Santa Kitty Softie Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Center a 6x9" piece of fleece (or flannel) on top of stabilier.

Stitch first color to secure (kitty outline).

2. Stitch second color (kitty facial features).

Stitch third color (kitty nose).

3. Stitch fourth color (hat fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hat outline covering completely.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim hat fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fleece/flannel underneath or stitching.

Stitch sixth color (hat satin stitching).

4.  Stitch seventh color (hat trim fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hat trim outline covering completely.

Stitch eighth color to secure.

Trim hat fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fleece/flannel underneath or stitching.

Stitch ninth color (hat trim satin stitching and pompom fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of pompom outline covering completely.

Stitch tenth color to secure.

Trim hat fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut fleece/flannel underneath or stitching.

Stitch eleventh color (pompom satin stitching).

5. Place a second 6x9" piece of flannel/fleece on top of outline covering completely FACE DOWN.

Stitch final color to secure.

6. Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4- 1/2" seam allowance.  Clip corners and curves well.

Turn right side out. Stuff as desired.  Sew small seam opening closed by hand or machine.
