Our Retro Owl Finger Puppet is designed for the 4x4 hoop.

It is made from inexpensive felt and is a very quick and easy project!

Retro Owl Finger Puppet (includes pes, jef & hus formats):

 Retro Owl Finger Puppet instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Place a 5x5" piece of felt centered on top of stabilizer.

Stitch first color to secure.

2. Stitch second color (owl body fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of owl body, covering completely.

Stitch third color to secure.

3.  Stitch fourth color (owl wing fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of owl wing, covering completely.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim wing fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut felt underneath or stitching.

Stitch sixth color (wing satin stitching). 

4.  Stitch seventh color (owl wing fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of owl wing, covering completely.

Stitch eighth color to secure.

Trim wing fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut felt underneath or stitching.

Stitch ninth color (wing satin stitching). 

5. Stitch tenth color (owl body satin stitching).

6. Stitch 11th color (owl eyes fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of owl eyes, covering completely.

Stitch 12th color to secure.

Trim eyes fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut felt underneath or stitching.

Stitch 13th color (wing satin stitching). 

7.  Stitch 14th color (beak).

8. Stitch 15th color (eyes).

9.  Float a second 5x5" piece of felt UNDER hooped design.

Stitch final color to secure.

Remove from hoop. Trim around perimeter of design.
