Patriotic Owl Set

The Patriotic Owl set includes both Patriotic and plain (without stars) variations in both appliques and button covers!  This would be a fun set for an appliqued tshirt and matching hairbows or button trimmed flip flops!  Great for 4th of July matching sibling outfits!

The Patriotic and Plain Owl appliques are both designed for the 5x7 hoop.  The Patriotic and Plain Owl button covers are both designed for the 4x4 hoop and are sized to fit a 1.5" button.

 Owl Button Cover Instructions (for plain owl skip step which stitches star):

1. Hoop one layer of tearaway stabilizer.

Stitch first color (fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch second color to secure.

2.  Stitch third color (owl body).

Stitch fourth color (wings).

Stitch fifth color (large eye circles).

Stitch sixth color (inner eye circles).

Stitch seventh color (small eye whites).

Stitch eighth color (beak).

Stitch ninth color (star).

Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of circle stitching right next to stitching.  Remove excess tearaway stabilizer inside design.

Assemble button according to button kit instructions.

 You're finished!

Owl Applique (for plain applique skip step that stitches stars):

1. Hoop item to be appliqued as desired.

Stitch first color (owl body fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of outline covering completely.

Stitch second color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch third color (owl body satin stitching).

2.  Stitch fourth color (wing fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of outline covering completely.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch sixth color (wing satin stitching and second wing fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of outline covering completely.

Stitch seventh color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch eighth color (second wing satin stitching satin stitching).

 3.  Stitch 9th color (eye circle fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of outline covering completely.

Stitch 10th color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch 11th color (eye circle satin stitching and second eye fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of outline covering completely.

Stitch 12th color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch 13th color (eye circle satin stitching).

4.  Stitch 14th color (inner eye circles).

Stitch 15th color (small eye whites).

Stitch 16th color (beak).

Stitch 17th color (stars).
