When you purchase Nativity Softies Set Four you will receive BOTH sizes for the 5x7 and 4x4 hoops!

PLEASE NOTE:  Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus and the Manger, the shepherd, angel and the sheep and wisemen are NOT included in Set Four.  They can be purchased separately in Sets One, Two, and Three.

5x7  Nativity Stable Instructions: (4x4 measurements are in parentheses)

FRONT:

1. Hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer.  Stitch first color (felt placement outline).

2.  Place one piece of 6x8" (5x5")felt on top of stabilizer.  Stitch second color to secure in place, and give stable detail.

3. Stitch fourth color - star.

4.  Stitch fifth color (ribbon placement outline).  Place an 8" piece of ribbon so the end of ribbon is extending 1/2" out of design area and the remainder of ribbon is within the design.  Stitch sixth color to secure in place.

Repeat this step for the next 3 pieces of ribbon.  For each piece you will have one stitching to show the placement and then one stitching to secure in place.
You will have four pieces of ribbon sewn upon completion.

Pin or tape the ends of the ribbon in the center of the design so they are not crossing the stable outline (except for the 1/2 of the ribbon ends that do).

4. Place a second piece of 6x8" (5x5") felt on top of first piece and an additional piece of cutaway stabilizer on TOP of the second piece of felt (second stabilizer can be ommitted for the 4x4 size) to give it extra body and stitch final color.

5.  Remove from hoop and trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately a 1/4-1/2" seam allowance.

6.  Turn right side out. 

7.  Whip opening shut by hand or topstitch.

8.  Side are stitched the same exact way, but will only have ribbon upon two sides and no detail stitching.

Make one front and two sides.

After completing all 3 pieces lay them face down so the sides are lined up and tie the ribbons together in the back to attach the sides to the front. 

Your stable will now be able to stand upright.

Place nativity figures in front of stable.
