POCKET HANGER INSTRUCTIONS:

Mother Goose:

1. Hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer.  Pin one piece of 6x8 felt to front and one piece of 6x8 felt to back of stabilizer, sandwiching stabilizer and being certain pins are not in needle path.

2.  Stitch design.  Remove from hoop and trim around outline.

3. Sew 1/2" buttons to bottom squares.

4.  Tack 7" piece of ribbon to the back at the top of the tail and the top of the head for hanging loop.

Book:

1. Hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer.  Pin one piece of 6x8 felt to front.  Stitch first color (outline and buttonholes).

2.  Place a second piece of felt with top edge approximately 1/4" BELOW bottom of buttonholes, covering rest of outline.

3.  Stitch second color.  Trim top piece of felt along second color stitching as close as possible, being careful not to cut bottom layer of felt.

4. Stitch final color.  Remove from hoop and trim along outline.

5.  Open buttonholes using tiny scissors or seam ripper.  If this is a middle pocket, sew two buttons to the bottom of pocket.  If it is the last pocket, the buttons are not needed.  Button to pocket hanger.
