The Momma Bird and Baby Puppet set includes a 5x7 Momma Bird hand puppet and a 4x4 Baby Bird Finger Puppet.  Stitch out several babies for a whole nest full!

Momma Bird and Baby Bird Puppet Instructions:

Instructions are given for 5x7 puppet.

Measurements for 4x4 puppet are in parentheses).

1. Hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer.

Center a 6x9" (5x5") piece of felt on top of stabilizer.

Stitch first color to secure.

2. Stitch second color (feathers on top of head and body fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch third color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch fourth color (bird satin stiching).

3. Stitch fifth color (beak).

Stitch sixth color (eyes).

4.  Float a second piece of felt same size as first UNDER hooped design.

Stitch final color to secure.

5.  Remove from hoop. Trim around perimeter of design.

You're finished!

1. Hoop item to be appliqued as desired.

Stitch first color (feathers on top of head and body fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch second color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch third color (bird satin stiching).

2. Stitch fourth color (beak).

Stitch fifth color (eyes).
