Halloween Softies and Halloween Softies Ornaments
I have added two new Softies sets to the site: 5x7 Halloween Softies and 4x4 Halloween Softie Ornaments.
These sweet little Halloween Softies and Softies Ornaments are quick, easy and inexpensive to make!
They are designed for the 5x7 and 4x4 hoop and stitch up in just minutes using inexpensive polar fleece! !
Add fun bows, bells or other embellishments to personalize them!
Note: Please do not add embellishments if your softies are meant for a small child.
They are made entirely in the hoop except for one small seam which is whipped shut by hand after stuffing.

Softies Ornaments Instructions:
To make simple hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer. Pin a piece of fabric or fleece the size of your hoop around the perimeter of the stabilizer (you can also just float this piece if you desire) right side facing up. Stitch all of the steps until the LAST three colors. Cut a 6" piece of 1/4" ribbon and fold in half. Stitch the third to last color (ribbon placement line). Place the folded ribbon loop on top of the ribbon placement line, so the ends of the ribbon extend 1/2" above the top of the ornament and the rest of the ribbon (including the loop) lays inside the design. Stitch the next color to secure in place. Before stitching the last color, add a second piece of fleece or fabric the size of your hoop on top of the design, right side down (right sides will be touching). The ribbon loop will be sandwiched between the layers, but make certain it is not touching the outline. You can pin or tape it to the middle of the design to keep it out of the way if desired. Stitch the final color of the design. Remove from hoop and trim around the perimeter being careful to leave a small seam allowance at the opening. Turn the design. I recommend using a knitting needle or crochet hook or chopstick to help turn the piece. They will be MUCH EASIER to turn if made from fleece (which has a bit of stretch to it) than if you use a cotton woven. Stuff as desired with fiberfill and stitch the opening shut by hand. Add bows, bells, or other embellishments as desired. (NOTE: Do not add any embellisments if your Softie Ornaments are meant for small children!)
