The GingerSnowman Pocket Wraps is the second design in the Early Bird Christmas Series.  Thank you to everyone who preordered this series! 

The Ginger/Snowman Pocket Wraps can be made to fit any size box of candy!  It slips onto the box with an elastic band to hold it securely in place. 

BUT  These pocket wraps can be used for so much more than just movie candy boxes!

Wrap one around a few fatquarters for a quilting gift and add some sewing accessories or a fabric shop gift card in the pocket!

Wrap around a giant candy bar and hot cocoa mix  and insert peppermint sticks in the pocket.

Wrap around a coffee cup and insert a coffee gift card in the pocket!

Wrap around a baggie of marshmallows and graham crackers and fill the pocket with mini chocolate bars for a cute instant Smores kit!

 A theater gift card, movie rental gift card or a few dollars can be inserted into the pocket for a fun, inexpensive gift!

The Ginger or Snowman Pocket Wrap are each made completely in one hooping with no other sewing required.  They are incredible quick and easy to make!

Ginger Snowman Pocket Wraps (includes pes, jef and hus formats):

 

NOTE:  The 6" elastic will fit most standard movie candy sized boxes.  It can be lengthened or shortened though to accomodate any size box or other items you wish to wrap around.

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Stitch first color (gift card wrap fabric placement outline).

Cut 2 5x9" pieces of fabric and fold in half and press so they are 5x4.5".

Place one piece of folded fabric on top of wrap outline so folded edge is even with top horizontal straight stitching line.

Stitch second color to secure.

2. Stitch third color (ginger face fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of outline.

Stitch fourth color to secure.

Trim ginger fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch fifth color (satin stitching).

3. Stitch sixth color (ginger icing and nose).

Stitch seventh color (ginger cheeks).

Stitch eighth color (ginger eyes, mouth).

4.  Stitch ninth color (elastic placement outline).

Cut a 6" piece of 1 inch wide elastic.

Place one end of elastic centered over left hand elastic placement outline so approximately 1/4" of elastic extends outside design and remainder of elastic is inside design.

Stitch tenth color to secure.

Repeat with other end of elastic on right hand side.

Tape elastic securely down INSIDE design perimeters (it can be folded over itself in the center so it fits) so presser foot does not become entangled  in future steps.

Stitch 11th color to secure.

5.  Place second piece of folded fabric on top of design so folded edge is even with previously placed folded edge.

Stitch final color to secure.

Remove from hoop. Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4" seam allowance.  Trim excess stabilizer from opening of pocket.

Turn right side out.  Slip over candy box and insert movie card.

You're finished!

 Snow Pocket  Wrap

Stitch seventh color (snow nose).
