Ginger Garland Instructions:
NOTE: For the first and last ginger in each garland, you may wish to use 2 pieces of 9" ribbon instead of one to secure to your mantel, stairway, etc.
1. Hoop one layer of Ultra Solvy stabilizer.
2.Stitch first color (left side ribbon placement stitching outline).
Place a 9" piece of 1/4" ribbon over ribbon outline so 1/2" extends to the right of stitching and the remainder extends to the left.
Place a 3" piece of tape over ribbon to secure in place over outline and on either side and to prevent presser foot from becoming entangled in ribbon in future steps.
Stitch second color to secure.
3. Repeat step 2 for the ribbon on right side.
4. Stitch fifth color (ginger fabric placement outline).
Place a piece of fabric on top of ginger outline, covering completely.
Stitch sixth color to secure.
5. Stitch seventh color (cheeks).
6. Stitch eighth color (icing details).
7. Stitch ninth color (eyes and mouth).
8. Stitch tenth color (letter).
9. Float a second piece of fabric UNDER hoop covering ginger completely, FACE DOWN.
Stitch eleventh color to secure.
10. Trim fabric on both top and bottom of design as closely to ginger outline as possible, being careful not to cut stitching or stabilizer.
11. Stitch twelfth color (ginger satin stitching).
Repeat for each ginger in garland and tie together with ribbons.
You're finished!
