Ginger Faces Stocking (includes pes, jef & hus formats):

Ginger Faces Stocking Instructions:

1.  Hoop one layer of tearaway or cutaway stabilizer (I like to use cutaway for a little added body to the final product).

Stitch the first color (stocking fabric placement outline).

2.  Fold a 6x16" piece of fabric in half so it is 6x8" and press well.  Place the folded fabric on top of the hooped stabilizer completely covering the stocking fabric placement outline with the folded edge even with the top line of the stitching.

IMPORTANT: Place a piece of clear tape along the folded edge so it does not become entangled in the presser foot in future steps!

Stitch the second color to secure.

3.    Stitch the third color (rick rack border at top of stocking.).

4.  Stitch fourth color (ginger face fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch sixth color (ginger satin stitching and second ginger fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch seventh color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch eighth color (ginger satin stitching).

Stitch ninth color (cheeks).

Stitch 10th color (icing, nose).

Stitch 11th color (facial features).

5. Stitch 12th color (ribbon loop placement outline).

Cut a 4" piece of narrow ribbon and fold in half to form a loop.

Place loop centered on top of placement outline with loop extending inside design and approximately 1/2" of cut ends of ribbon extending outside ribbon line.  I placed mine at a 45 degree angle for the nicest look.

Stitch 13th color to secure.

6.  Fold a 6x16" piece of fabric in half so it is 6x8" and press well.  Place the folded fabric on top of the hooped stabilizer/fabric with the folded edge even with the other folded edges.

IMPORTANT: Place a piece of clear tape along the folded edge so it does not become entangled in the presser foot in future steps!

Stitch the final color to finish.

7.  Remove stocking from hoop and trim leaving 1/4" seam allowances and clip curvers.  Trim stabilizer away from stocking opening.

Turn right side out.

You're finished!
