The Ginger Baby Softies, Appliques & Ginger House Wrist Tote is the third set in the Christmas in July Series.

The Ginger Baby Softies and Ginger Baby Appliques are designed in three hoop sizes: 6x10, 5x7, and 4x4.

The Ginger Baby Softies are made from fleece and bright cotton prints.

Each Ginger Baby Softie is made in one hooping with just one small seam sewn shut by hand upon completion.

The Ginger House Tote is made from colorful cottons and is designed for the 5x7 hoop.

It will hold one 5x7 Ginger Baby Softie as shown, or 2-3 4x4 Ginger Baby Softies.

It has a ribbon handle for easy carrying.

The Ginger House Tote is made completely in one hooping!

Ginger Baby Softies Instructions:
1.  Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Place a piece of fleece one inch wider and one inch taller than hoop on top.

Stitch first color to secure.

2.  Stitch second color (ginger body fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of ginger body outline, covering completely.

Stitch third color to secure.

3.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching or fleece underneath.

Stitch fourth color (ginger body satin stitching).

4.  Stitch fifth color (ginger face fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of ginger face outline, covering completely.

Stitch sixth color to secure.

5.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching or fleece underneath.

Stitch seventh color (ginger face satin stitching).

6.  Stitch eighth color (icing details).

7.  Stitch ninth color (nose).

8.  Stitch tenth color (buttons).

9.  Stitch eleventh color (cheeks).

10.  Stitch twelfth color (eyes, mouth).

11.  Place a second piece of fleece, same size as first, on top of design.

Stitch thirteenth color to secure.

12.  Remove from hoop and trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4 - 1/2" seam allowance.

Turn right side out.

Stuff as desired and sew seam opening shut by hand.

You're finished!

Ginger Baby Applique Instructions:
1.  Hoop item to be appliqued as desired.

2.  Stitch first color (ginger body fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of ginger body outline, covering completely.

Stitch second color to secure.

3.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching or fleece underneath.

Stitch third color (ginger body satin stitching).

4.  Stitch fourth color (ginger face fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of ginger face outline, covering completely.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

5.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching or fleece underneath.

Stitch sixth color (ginger face satin stitching).

6.  Stitch seventh color (icing details).

7.  Stitch eighth color (nose).

8.  Stitch ninth color (buttons).

9.  Stitch tenth color (cheeks).

10.  Stitch eleventh color (eyes, mouth).

You're finished!

Ginger House Wrist Tote Instructions:

1.  Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Stitch first color (ginger house fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of ginger house outline, covering completely.

Stitch second color to secure.

3.  Stitch third color (roof icing fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of roof icing outline, covering completely.

Stitch fourth color to secure.

4.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching.

5.  Stitch fifth color (roof icing satin stitching).

6. Stitch sixth color (heart).

7.  Stitch seventh color (door fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of door outline, covering completely.

Stitch eighth color to secure.

8.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching.

9.  Stitch ninth color (door satin stitching).

10.  Stitch tenth color (first tree fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of tree outline, covering completely.

Stitch 11th color to secure.

11.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching.

12.  Stitch 12th color (door satin stitching and second tree fabric placement outline).

Stitch seventh color (tree fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of tree outline, covering completely.

Stitch 13th color to secure.

13.  Trim fabric as closely to stitching as possible, being careful not to cut stitching.

14.  Stitch 14th color (tree satin stitching) and door trim.

15.  Stitch 15th color (star).

16.  Stitch 16th color (peppermints - white).

17.  stitch 17th color (peppermints - red).

18.  Stitch 18th color (ribbon placement outline).

Fold a 12" piece of 5/8 - 7/8" wide ribbon in half so it is a 6" loop.

Place on top of ribbon outline, so approximately 1" of cut ends extends past top of design and remainder of loop is inside design. 

IMPORTANT:  Secure entire loop with tape so presser foot does not become entangled in future steps.

19.  Stitch 19th color to secure.

20.  Fold a 6x11" piece of fabric in half and press so it is 6x 5.5".

Place fabric on top of design to form pocket so folded edge is horizontal across design and is directly below roof icing.

IMPORTANT:  Tape entire folded edge securely to design so presser foot does not become entangled in future steps.

Stitch 20th color to secure.

21.  Place a 6x8" piece of fabric on top of design FACE DOWN.

Stitch final color.

Remove from hoop and trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4-1/2" seam allowance.

Turn right side out and flip pocket to back.
