Teddy Softies:
1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.
For 4x4 softie, center one 5x5" piece of wool felt on top of hoop.
For 5x7 softie, center one 6x8" piece of wool felt on top of hoop.
Stitch first color to secure and to stitch nose.
2. Stitch second color (eyes).
stitch third color (smile).
3. Float a second piece of wool fleece the same size as the first under the hooped design, covering design completely.
Stitch fourth color to secure.
4. Remove from hoop. Trim around all edges of softie, EXCEPT the seam opening. Leaving this area untrimmed will allow for easier stitching after stuffing.
Lightly stuff head and body with polyfil. You do not need to stuff the legs and arm. They will be stiff enough with just the felt layers leaving them unstuffed will allow them to bend in play.
Sew seam opening closed on the sewing machine.
Trim around remainder of softie.
You're finished!
