The 4x4 Doll Smiley Pocket Bag was designed to match the Child's Smiley Pocket Bag for the 5x7 hoop (5x7 Smiley pocket bag sold separately)!  This fun bag is two sided.  Each side is identical with an appliqued smiley face and two outer pockets to store little treasures!

 The 4x4 Doll Smiley Pocket Bag makes a perfect purse size for 18" dolls or a jumbo tote size for Fashion dolls! 

The 4x4 Doll Smiley Pocket Bag is made in just two hoopings with no hand sewing required!  Each side requires only 4 minutes stitching time for a very fast and easy little project!  

The Smiley Pocket Bag can also double as a party favor!

4x4 Doll Smiley Pocket Bag for the 5x7 hoop (includes pes, jef & hus formats); 

There are two steps to making the 4x4 Doll Smiley Pocket bag purse.

 Smiley Pocket Bag ONE

Cut 2 lg pieces of 10x6" fabric and fold and press so they are 5x6".  

Cut 2 sm pieces of  10x7" fabric and fold and press so they are 5x3.5".

1. Hoop one layer of cutaway or tearaway stabilizer.

Stitch first color (smiley bag fabric placement outline).

Place one large folded piece of fabric on top of outline,covering completely so folded edge is even with top straight horizontal line.

Stitch second color to secure.

2.  Stitch third color (smiley face fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a piece of fabric.

Stitch fourth color to secure.

 Stitch fifth color (smiley face satin stitching).

 Stitch six color (facial features).

4.  Place a small folded piece of fabric on top of design so folded edge is just below the appliqued smiley face.

TAPE ENTIRE FOLDED EDGE SECURELY DOWN so presser foot does not become entangled in future steps!

Stitch 7th color to secure.

5.  Cut a 6" piece of 3/8" ribbon.

Insert one end of ribbon under top folded fabric edge as close to left side of  smiley face as possible so approximately 3/4" of ribbon is under fabric.

Stitch 8th color to secure.

Repeat with second end of ribbon on right side of smiley face.

Stitch 9th color to secure.

Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1" all the way around (this large seam allowance will make it easier to stitch).

SMILEY POCKET BAG TWO

1. Repeat steps 1-5 above.

Place Smiley Pocket bag ONE piece on top of design FACE DOWN so top folded edge is even with top folded edge of Smiley Pocket Bag Two and lining up side seams.

Stitch final color to secure.

Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4 - 1/2" seam allowance. Clip curves and corners.  Remove excess stabilizer from purse opening.

Turn right side out.

You're finished!
