The Cross Book Buddy was designed for the 4x4 hoop.  It is made from 3 5x5" charm pack fabrics (or 3 5x5" fabric pieces).

The Cross Book Buddy has only 8 color stops and stitches in only 7 minutes.

Charm Pack Cross Book Buddy Instructions:

1.  Hoop 1-2 layers of heavy water soluble stabilizer.

Stitch first color (cross outline and ribbon placement line).

Cut a 12" piece of ribbon.  Place ribbon centered over ribbon placement line so approximately 1/2" of ribbon extends past ribbon placement inside design area and remainder of ribbon extends OUTSIDE cross outline.

Stitch second color to secure.

2. Cover design completely with a charm pack fabric.

Stitch third color to secure.

3. Stitch fourth color (heart fabric placement outline).

Cover outline completely with a charm pack fabric and stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to heart outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or fabric underneath.

Stitch sixth color (heart satin stitching).

4. Float a third charm pack fabric under hooped design, right side down, covering design completely.

Stitch seventh color to secure.

Trim both top and bottom fabrics as closely to cross outline stitching as possible being careful not to cut stabilizer or stitching.

Stitch final color (cross satin stitching).

Remove from hoop and remove excess stabilizer.
