Year Round Softies and More!

Join the Softies as we work our way around the calendar!  Each week for the next four weeks, the Softies will visit a different occasion!

There will be softies, appliques and other fun things in store!

This week's set of Year Round Softies are the Birthday Softies!

Our poodle, frog and duck are ready to help your little one celebrate!

Included in this set are nine numerical variations of three softie designs: Birthday Duck 1-9, Birthday Frog 1-9, and Birthday Poodle 1-9.  There is also a blank Birthday Duck Softie, Birthday Frog Softie, and Birthday Poodle Softie.

Also included are numerical variations of three applique designs: Birthday Duck 1-9 appliques, Birthday Frog 1-9 appliques, and Birthday Poodle 1-9 appliques.  Blank Birthday Duck, Birthday Frog, and Birthday Poodle appliques are also included for adding your own number!

Future Year Round Softies sets will all include softies, but may also include appliques, alphabets and in the hoop projects!

Softies Applique Instructions:

1.  Hoop one layer of tearaway stabilizer.  Lay the garment you wish to add your design to, on top of hooped stabilizer and pin in place around the perimeter being careful that pins are not in the presser foot's path.

2.  Stitch the first color (applique outline stitching).

3.  Cover the outline completely with a piece of fabric approximately 5x7". 

Stitch the second color to secure in place.

4. Trim fabric as closely as possible to stitching, being careful not to cut stitching or garment.

5.  Continue stitching remaining colors.

You're finished!

Softies Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of tearaway stabilizer.  Center a 5x8 piece of fleece on top of stabilizer.

2.  Stitch all colors EXCEPT the final color. 

3.  Lay a 5x8" piece of fleece on top of the stabilizer/fabric right side facing DOWN.

4.  Stitch the final color to secure in place.

5.  Carefully cut around outline of Softie, leaving an approximately 1/8 - 1/4" seam allowance.  Clip corners and curves as needed.

6.  Turn inside out.  Stuff with fiberfil as desired.

7.  Stitch opening shut.
