ANIMAL SOFTIES TWO

Animal Softies are euro inspired little soft dolls perfectly sized for a pocket or a little one's hand!  These little Softies are perfect for boys or girls.  After my first set of Animal Softies, I had numerous requests for additional animals and have fulfilled some of them in this set.

The stitching is done completely in the hoop except for a small turning opening which is stitched shut after stuffing.

They can be made of woven cotton fabric, fun flannels or super soft fleece!  For easiest turning, I recommend using fleece.

They will make an adorable adornment to a gift!

The Animal Softies TWO set is sized for the 5x7 hoop and includes five new Animal Softies!

Instructions for the animal softies are located at the bottom of this page.

Instructions:

To make simple hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer.  Pin a piece of fabric or fleece the size of your hoop around the perimeter of the stabilizer (you can also just float this piece if you desire) right side facing up.  Stitch all of the steps until the LAST color.  Before stitching the last color, add a second piece of fleece or fabric the size of your hoop on top of the design, right side down (right sides will be touching).  Stitch the final color of the design.  Remove from hoop and trim around the perimeter being careful to leave a small seam allowance at the opening.  Turn the design (very quick for the Baby Dolls, but took me several minutes for the Large Softie Doll shaped like a star to work the piece inside out.).  Stuff as desired with fiberfill and stitch the opening shut by hand.  Add bows, bells, or other embellishments as desired.  (NOTE:  Do not add any embellisments if your Softie Dolls are meant for small children!)
