Our 5x7 Farmer boy and Farmer girl puppets are each made entirely in one hooping.  Each farmer is dressed for work on the farm!  They are each made in the 5x7 hoop and sized for a child's hand.

5x7 Farmer Boy & Girl Hand Puppets: 

Farmer Boy Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Place a piece of 6x8" felt centered on top of hoop.

Stitch first color to secure.

2. Stitch second color (face fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of face outline, covering completely.

Stitch third color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to face outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch fourth color (face satin stitching, nose, hands).

3.  Stitch fifth color (hair fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hair outline, covering completely.

Stitch sixth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to hair outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch seventh color (hair satin stitching).

4.  Stitch eighth color (facial features).

5. Stitch ninth color (hat fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hat outline, covering completely.

Stitch tenth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to hat outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch eleventh color (hat satin stitching).

6. Stitch 12th color (shirt fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of shirt outline, covering completely.

Stitch 13th color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to shirt outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch 14th color (shirt satin stitching).

7. Stitch 15th color (overalls  fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of overalls outline, covering completely.

Stitch 16th color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to overalls outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch 17th color (overalls satin stitching).

8.  Float a second piece of 6x8" felt UNDERNEATH hooped design, covering completely.

Stitch final color to secure.

Remove from hoop and trim around perimeter of design.

You're finished!

Farmer Girl Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Place a piece of 6x8" felt centered on top of hoop.

Stitch first color to secure.

2. Stitch second color (face fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of face outline, covering completely.

Stitch third color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to face outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch fourth color (face satin stitching, nose, hands).

3. Stitch fifth color (facial features).

4.  Stitch sixth color (shirt fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of shirt outline, covering completely.

Stitch seventh color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to shirt outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch eighth color (shirt satin stitching).

5. Stitch ninth color (overalls fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of overalls outline, covering completely.

Stitch tenth color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to overalls outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch eleventh color (overalls satin stitching).

6. Stitch 12th color (hair fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hair outline, covering completely.

Stitch 13th color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to hair outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch 14th color (hair satin stitching).

7. Stitch 15th color (hat fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of hat outline, covering completely.

Stitch 16th color to secure.

Trim fabric as closely to hat outline as possible being careful not to cut fabric underneath or stitching.

Stitch 17th color (hat satin stitching).

8.  Float a second piece of 6x8" felt UNDERNEATH hooped design, covering completely.

Stitch final color to secure.

Remove from hoop and trim around perimeter of design.
