The 4x4 Cord Keeper is the first design in the Dollar Days Five series!  Thank you to everyone who preordered this series!

Cord Keepers are extremely quick and easy to make!  They are handy for keeping your cords organized and especially useful when you have several items plugged into on power strip. 

4x4 Cord Keepers are made entirely in one hooping with no hand sewing required!  Each Cord Keeper requires only 4 minutes stitching time!  They are made from colorful cotton scraps and small pieces of velcro.  Simply fold your cord keeper around your cord to fasten.

Cord Keeper Instructions:

You'll need 1 4" piece of velcro (4" of each side).

1.  Center a 5x5" piece of fabric on hooped stabilizer.

Stitch first color to secure.

Float a second piece of 5x5" fabric UNDER hooped design, right side facing DOWN.

Stitch second color to secure.

2. Stitch third color (velcro placement outline).

Remove hoop from machine and place fluffy Velcro piece UNDER hoop with smooth side touching fabric, centered over velcro placement outline, covering outline completely.  Tape in place along long length on both sides of velcro.

Replace hoop and stitch fourth color to secure.

3. Stitch fifth color (velcro placement outline).

Remove hoop from machine and place coordinating bumpy piece of Velcro UNDER hoop with smooth side touching fabric, centered over velcro placement outline. covering outline completely.  Tape in place along long length on both sides of velcro.

Replace hoop and stitch sixth color to secure.

 4.  Trim both pieces of velcro next to stitching line.

Trim both top and bottom pieces of fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or stabilizer.

5.  Stitch final color (cord keeper satin stitching).

Remove from hoop and remove excess stabilizer.

Fold around coiled cord and velcro in place.

You're finished!
