The 2 Minute Felt Reading Glasses Case was designed for the 5x7 hoop and will hold standard sized reading glasses.

This SUPER QUICK project is made from inexpensive felt.  It requires only 2 minutes stitching time and has only 4 color stops!

The only hand sewing required is one button which is stitched on after completion.

2 Minute Felt Reading Glasses Case Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of cutaway stabilizer.

Stitch first color (reading glasses fabric placement outline and elastic loop placement line).

Cut a 2 1/2" piece of narrow elastic.  Fold in half to form a loop.

Place elastic loop centered over elastic loop placment line so approximately 1/2" of cut ends extend below loop line and remainder of loop extends outside design area.

Tape in place.

Stitch second color to secure.

2.  Cover entire design area with a 5x8" piece of felt.

Float a second 5x8" piece of felt UNDER hooped design, covering design area completely.

Stitch third color to secure and to stitch pocket placement line.

Place a 5x7" piece of felt on top of design so top edge of felt is even with pocket placement line and entire design area below pocket placement line is completely covered.

Stitch final color to secure.

3. Remove from hoop.  Carefully trim around perimeter of design being careful not to cut elastic loop. (I cut one layer at a time around elastic loop area).

Stitch a 1" button approximately 1" below pocket edge being careful to only stitch through pocket layer of felt.

Insert reading glasses.
