The 18" Doll Vest & Kerchief Set is designed for the 5x7 hoop.

The Vest is made completely in two hoopings with no other hand sewing required.

The kerchief is made in one hooping with no other hand sewing required.

The 18" doll Vest & Kerchief Set is designed to fit most 18" dolls.

18" Doll Vest & Kerchief Set (includes pes, jef & hus formats):

 Doll Kerchief instructions:
1. Hoop one layer of Ultra Solvy water soluble stabilizer.

Stitch first color (kerchief fabric placement outline).

2.  Cut two 6x8" pieces of fabric and place one on top of the other wrong sides together.

Place fabric pieces on top of kerchief fabric placement outline.

Stitch second color to secure.

Trim both layers of fabric closely to outline stitching, being careful not to cut stitching.

3.  Stitch third color (kerchief satin stitching).

4.  Cut a 24" piece of 1/2-5/8" ribbon.

 Place ribbon centered along edge of kerchief with one edge of ribbon even with front straight edge of kerchief.  Ribbon will be inside design along edge with ends extending on either side of design, past design..

Tape in place to secure.

Stitch final color to secure.

Remove from hoop and remove excess stabilizer.

Place on doll's head and tie underneath hair with ribbon ties.  Trim ties to desired length.  

 (Ribbon ends can also be heatsealed to prevent fraying.  To do this simply pass a match flame across the cut end quickly to "melt" the end.

 VEST DIRECTIONS:
Back:

1. Hoop one layer of Ultra Solvey water soluble stabilizer.

Stitch first color (vest back fabric placement outline).

 2.  Cut two 6x8" pieces of fabric and place one on top of the other wrong sides together.

Place fabric pieces on top of vest back fabric placement outline.

Stitch second color to secure.

Trim both layers of fabric closely to outline stitching, being careful not to cut stitching.

3.  Stitch third color (vest back satin stitching).

 4.  Remove from hoop but do not remove stabilizer at this point.

FRONT:

1. Hoop one layer of Ultra Solvey water soluble stabilizer.

Stitch first color (vest front fabric placement outline).

 2.  Cut two 6x4" pieces of fabric and place one on top of the other wrong sides together.

Place fabric pieces on top of vest front fabric placement outline.

Stitch second color to secure.

Trim both layers of fabric closely to outline stitching, being careful not to cut stitching.

3.  Stitch third color (vest front satin stitching).

 4.  Stitch fourth color (second vest front fabric placement outline).

 5.  Cut two 6x4" pieces of fabric and place one on top of the other wrong sides together.

Place fabric pieces on top of vest front fabric placement outline.

Stitch fifth color to secure.

Trim both layers of fabric closely to outline stitching, being careful not to cut stitching.

6.  Stitch sixth color (vest front satin stitching).

 7.  Place Vest Back piece FACE DOWN on top of Vest front pieces.

Line up side, shoulder and bottom seams.

Secure in place (pin or tape as desired).

8.  Stitch final color to secure.

9.  Remove from hoop.

Remove excess stabilizer and turn right side out.
