The 18" Doll Christmas Aprons is the first set in the In The Hoop Holidays series!  Thank you to everyone who preordered this series.

 

The Doll Christmas Aprons were designed specifically to fit 18" dolls but will fit a wide variety of other dolls, also.  These Aprons are each made entirely in one hooping with just one small straight seam to be sewn closed by hand or topstitching upon completion.

18" Doll Christmas Apron set for the 5x7 hoop (Includes pes, jef & hus formats): 

 

Ginger Apron Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Stitch first color (apron fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of apron outline, covering completely.

2.  Stitch second color to secure.

3.  Stitch third color (ricrac icing and nose stitching).

Stitch fourth color (cheeks).

Stitch fifth color (eyes, smile).

4.  Stitch sixth color (top apron ribbon ties placement lines).

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of left ribbon line approximately 1/4" from left edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending above top of design.

Tape in place.  Stitch seventh color to secure.

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of right ribbon line approximately 1/4" from left edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending above top of design.

Tape in place.  Stitch eighth color to secure.

 5.  Stitch ninth color (side ribbon ties placement lines).

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of left ribbon line approximately 1/4" from armhole edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending out side of design.

Stitch tenth color to secure.

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of right ribbon line approximately 1/4" from armhole edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending out side of design.

Stitch 11th color to secure.

Fold and tape ribbons so they are inside of design.

7.  Place a second piece of fabric on top of design FACE DOWN, covering entire design completely.

Stitch final color to secure.

9.  Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4" seam allowance and clipping curves and corners well.

Turn right side out.  Press and stitch small opening seam shut.

You're finished!

 

Snowman Apron Instructions:

1. Hoop one layer of stabilizer.

Stitch first color (apron fabric placement outline).

Place a piece of fabric on top of apron outline, covering completely.

2.  Stitch second color to secure.

3.  Stitch third color (bottom decorative stitching).

Stitch fourth color (carrot nose).

Stitch fifth color (cheeks).

Stitch sixth color (eyes, smile).

4.  Stitch seventh color (top apron ribbon ties placement lines).

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of left ribbon line approximately 1/4" from left edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending above top of design.

Tape in place.  Stitch eighth color to secure.

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of right ribbon line approximately 1/4" from left edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending above top of design.

Tape in place.  Stitch ninth color to secure.

 5.  Stitch tenth color (side ribbon ties placement lines).

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of left ribbon line approximately 1/4" from armhole edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending out side of design.

Stitch 11th color to secure.

Place one 8inch 3/8" - 5/8" ribbon on top of right ribbon line approximately 1/4" from armhole edge of design with 1/2" of ribbon extending out side of design.

Stitch 12th color to secure.

Fold and tape ribbons so they are inside of design.

7.  Place a second piece of fabric on top of design FACE DOWN, covering entire design completely.

Stitch final color to secure.

9.  Remove from hoop.  Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4" seam allowance and clipping curves and corners well.

Turn right side out.  Press and stitch small opening seam shut.
