The 18" Doll Bunny Ears Set is the first set in the ITH 18" Doll Designs Series.
Thank you to everyone who preordered this series.

The 18" Doll Bunny Ears Set will have your little doll ready for Easter or just Dress-up! This fun set is made for the 5x7 hoop and includes a set of Easter Ears, a tiny Easter Basket and the tiniest little stuffed bunny.
The Bunny Ears are made entirely in one hooping. An elastic band keeps the ears snugly attached to doll's head. These ears only require one small seam to be sewn closed by hand upon completion. The Bunny Ears are made in just 7 minutes stitching time with just 5 color stops.
The Tiny Stuffed Bunny is also made entirely in one hooping. It is made from inexpensive fleece with just one small seam on an ear edge to be sewn closed by hand upon completion. The Stuffed Bunny is made in just 3 minutes stitching time with just 5 color stops.
The Easter Basket and handle are both also made entirely in one hooping! The only hand sewing required is two buttons which are sewn onto the basket.
The 18" Doll Bunny Ears Set includes:
18" doll bunny ears for the 5x7 hoop
Doll basket with handle for the 5x7 hoop
Tiny stuffed bunny for the 4x4 hoop

Bunny Ear Instructions:
1. Hoop TWO layers of cut away stabilizer (two layers are used to give ears extra stability).
Place a 7x9" piece of fabric on top of hooped stabilizer, centered.
Stitch first color to secure.
2. Stitch second color (inner ears).
3. Cut a 7" piece of 1/8" elastic. Lay horizontally across the rectangular bottom portion of design with one cut end centered over left hand short side of rectangle.
Stitch third color to secure left side.
Center other end of elastic over right hand short side of rectangle with elastic lying flat between two sides.
IMPORTANT: TAPE entire elastic piece down so presser foot does not become entangle in it in future steps.
Stitch fourth color to secure. right side.
4. Place a second piece of 7x9" fabric on top of design FACE DOWN, covering design completely.
Stitch fifth color to secure.
5. Remove from hoop. Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4-1/2" seam allowance and clipping corners and curves well. Turn right side out.
HELPFUL HINT: Turning small items right side out is more difficult with thin items like these bunny ears, but there IS a trick! BEFORE you turn the actual headband inside out, push the tips of one ear down through the ear "tunnel" and out the bottom of the headband. I use a bamboo knitting needle or a paint brush handle to aid with this. Repeat with the second ear. Once you have turned both ears right side out through the bottom opening, it is easy to turn the rest of the headband. Pushing the ear tips down through the ears FIRST aides greatly in turning this item!
Stuff ears lightly with fiberfil to help them stand straight.
Stitch small seam opening at bottom closed.
You're finished!

5. Place a second piece of 5x5" fabric on top of design FACE DOWN, covering design completely.

Remove from hoop. Trim around perimeter of design leaving approximately 1/4-1/2" seam allowance and clipping corners and curves well. Turn right side out. Stuff as desired.

Easter Basket Instructions:
1. Hoop one or two layers of heavy water soluble stabilizer. (I use Badgemaster for best results).
Stitch first color (handle fabric placement outline).
Place a piece of fabric on top of outline, covering completely.
Stitch second color to secure.
2. Float a second piece of fabric FACE DOWN under hooped design, covering outline completely.
Stitch third color to secure.
3. Stitch fourth color (buttonholes).
Stitch fifth color (handle trim).
4. Trim both top and bottom layers of fabric as closely to outline as possible being careful not to cut stitching or stabilizer.
Stitch sixth color (handle satin stitching).
5. Stitch seventh color (basket fabric placement outline).
Cut and fold two 5x9" pieces of fabric so they are 5x4.5" and press.
Place one folded piece of fabric on top of basket fabric outline so folded edge is even with straight basket edge and remainder of basket design is covered.
Stitch eighth color to secure.
Place second folded piece of fabric on top of first matching folded edges precisely.
IMPORTANT: Tape entire folded edge of fabric pieces down so presser foot does not become entangled in them in future steps.
Stitch ninth color to secure.
Remove from hoop. Remove excess stabilizer from both basket and handle.
Turn basket right side out. Stitch a button on each side of basket at top at side seams.
Open buttonholes on handle. Button handle onto basket.
You're finished!
